about dennica 

Dennica Pearl is a media artist, musician, writer, and educator.  She is a graduate of The New School in New York where she holds a Bachelors of Science in Liberal Arts and Master of Arts in Media Studies from the School of Public Engagement.

Her photo and documentary film work explores stories at the center of nature and culture. Her landscape photography, art films, and short documentaries have been exhibited at 1310 Gallery, Deerfield Beach Historical Society, and the Barbados Embassy in Washington D.C. Dennica’s first solo exhibit, ‘Black of the Land and Free’ debuted at Arts Warehouse in Delray Beach, Florida.

Dennica works as a teaching fellow at Parsons School of Design at The New School instructing classes in media, culture, and arts-entrepreneurship. She works as a research consultant and curriculum designer for leading non-profits, faculty, and mission-oriented companies.  Dennica's newsletter, Art of Plenty, explores how artists and activists cultivate abundance.

Writing is an integral part of Dennica’s life. She has written for publications around south Florida covering stories on neighborhood life, environmental affairs. Dennica also exhibits her writing, audio stories, and collage art on her website Fact and Feeling


MUSICALLY SPEAKING

Dennica is also a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar, bass, and piano. She has over three years of experience as a music curator in the media industry and she recently composed a score for a short film

Genre-wise, she is most passionate about jazz and soul music and enjoys creating and producing music for media, from soundscapes for film projects to scores for podcasts.
